Every air handling unit, rated area by area.

The AHU Condition Report rates each air handling system on ten areas, from fan power to commissioning data, works out what its fans cost to run, and lists the actions in priority order with what each one saves. Every rating comes from the answers and recommendations recorded on site.

AHU Condition Report for Riverside House: two air handling systems and the answers recorded against each.

Screens and documents are from a sample account: the buildings, clients and assessor are made up.

A rating for every area
Fan power, filters, heat recovery and seven more, each Good, Attention or Poor.
What the fans cost
Specific fan power, the hours run and your tariff, with what the actions save.
Actions in priority order
High, Medium or Low by a stated rule, each with its saving.
Nothing assumed
An area nobody answered is Not checked, never Good.

Each unit at a glance, then every area.

The summary opens with a card for each unit and its overall rating, its worst area, then the matrix: ten areas across, one unit to a row, every rating a word on its colour.

The fans, measured against the limits and costed.

Each unit’s specific fan power is drawn against the published range for existing central systems. Its running cost comes from its share of the zone’s fresh air, the hours it runs and the site’s own tariff, and the green is what the recommended actions save.

Actions in the order to do them.

  • Every recommendation that asks for something becomes an action, with the unit and the area it was raised against.
  • High where it was raised on fan power, speed control or heat recovery rated Poor, Low for paperwork, Medium for the rest.
  • Each fan measure carries its saving, split the way the Ancillary Energy Report splits it, or says why it has none.
  • Then each system in turn, with every answer, your notes and its photographs, and the published standards and the calculations at the back.

What the ratings rest on

  • A yes-or-no question rates itself. A question answered in words is rated only from the recommendation chosen against it; nothing is read out of free text.
  • The survey does not record each unit’s system type, so fan power is read against the range for existing central systems: 1.6 or under Good, over 2.2 Poor, Attention between.
  • The fans’ running cost is a floor, from the minimum fresh air the zone needs. The method is set out in the report.

Included on the Private and Corporate plans. On Pay As You Go it is £9.97 per inspection, or every Pay As You Go tool on an inspection with the Full tool pack at £19.97. A Lead Assessor never needs it to produce a lodgeable, QA-ready report: it is time saved and work you can charge for, not a gate.
