How Click Inspection handles personal data in the app, the web portal and this website. Last updated 9 October 2026.
Who we are
Click Inspection is run by Click Inspection Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17510667) with its registered office at 124–128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. Write to info@clickinspection.com about anything on this page.
We decide how your account and billing details are used, so for those we are the data controller. The inspection records you capture are yours, or your firm’s: you decide what goes in them, and we hold and process them for you so that the service works.
What we hold
- Your account. Your name, username and email address, your firm’s name and address, the accreditation details you enter, your plan, and the inspectors and devices on the account.
- Payments. Taken by Stripe. We receive whether a payment went through and a customer reference. We never see or store your card number.
- Inspection records. What you capture in the app and the portal: site addresses, the names and contact details of building owners, managers and operators, plant details, answers and notes, photographs, zone sketches, and the reports and documents made from them.
- Devices. The name you give each phone, the credential that signs it in (kept in the phone’s secure storage) and when it last synced.
- Emails. Whatever you send to info@clickinspection.com.
There is no advertising, analytics or tracking in the app, the portal or this website, and we never sell personal data. The portal sets one cookie, to keep you signed in.
Photographs and the AI provider
Photo reading fills in data plates, displays and condition questions for you. When it is on, the photographs you take are sent to our service, which uses an AI provider to read them. Report text you ask the app to reword is sent the same way. They are used only for your inspections.
The app asks before any photograph is sent for reading, and you can turn photo reading off at any time in Account. With it off, photographs are still saved and synced, and you type the details in yourself.
Who else handles it
- Fly.io runs the service and stores your account and inspection records, in its London region.
- Stripe takes subscription and pay-as-you-go payments.
- Our AI provider reads photographs, when photo reading is on.
- Hostinger hosts this website and our email.
- Address and map services are given a site’s postcode or address, and nothing about you, to place it on the portal’s map.
- Apple and Google distribute the app. Their own privacy policies cover the App Store and Google Play.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law provides for.
Why we use it
- To provide the service you subscribed to, and to take payment for it.
- To keep the records that tax law requires.
- To keep the service secure and working: for example, the limits that stop one account using it all.
- To answer your emails.
- To read your photographs, with your agreement, which you can withdraw at any time by turning photo reading off.
How long we keep it
While your subscription runs, we keep your account and inspection records so you can use them. When it ends, the app and portal stop working for the account and the records are kept for six months, so you can come back or take a copy. After that they are erased. Billing records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
Inspections on your phone stay there until you delete the app.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or to give it to you in a form you can take elsewhere. Write to info@clickinspection.com. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
To close your account and have its data erased, see Delete your account.
Children
Click Inspection is a tool for air conditioning assessors and is not meant for children.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top, and email account holders about anything significant.
